Feast of Weeks
Frystown Assembly
June 15, 2008

What a blessing to be able to have back-to-back Sabbaths! Pastor Jake provided all with a thought-provoking message on the weekly Sabbath beginning with Deuteronomy 7:6. Most people who profess a belief in a Creator do not go to the Scriptures. We need to examine ourselves and know where we need to be. We need to remember that Yahweh chooses us; He selected you and as stated in Verse 11, keep the commands and He will bless you. Yahweh's Assembly never was the most popular, most numerous of the peoples and, as you look through Scripture, that is very evident.

Pastor Jake continued with "Where there is no vision, people perish," and noting how we are setting up for what is to come. We are instruments in Yahweh's hand to fulfill His purposes, not our own.

As the weekly Sabbath concluded, many folks gathered at the Jays for singing, singing and more singing - all to praise and glorify our Heavenly Father!

For the sermonette on the day of Pentecost, Glen Eberly started with 1 Corinthians 15:20 and emphasized how Yahweh has a purpose for everything. It is a great joy to see Yahweh's people together. Glen went into numerous Scriptures pertaining to the wave sheaf and how the Israelites had to eat the parched, or old, grain until the wave sheaf offering was made (Numbers 28:26; Joshua 5:16; Exodus 29:27; Leviticus 23:5-17).

Pastor Jake gave the main sermon commencing with Genesis 49:2-3, speaking of the firstfruits and the firstborn. He went into Yahshua being the "bridge" to Yahweh; the only way to our Father is through Yahshua and how Yahshua, unlike Reuben, received all the blessings of the firstborn as He was obedient in everything. The offering to Yahweh preceded the use by anyone else; it begins with the barley and ends with the wheat.

He delved into the Book of Romans, starting with Chapter 12. Are we earnestly desirous of being unified? Spiritually, where are we? There are many members of the body and each has their own job to do, yet all must work together.

Following the services, we had a wonderfully prepared dinner of turkey, mashed potatoes and various side dishes and desserts. It was a time of joyous fellowship with the many folks who cannot get to visit as often as they would like. It is also uplifting to see so many gathered.

We pray that all who read this likewise had a blessed Feast of Weeks and are starting the countdown to Tabernacles! May Yahweh bless and guide each and every one of us in our continuous search for truth in His word! May we find strength and continuity in His word to see us through the hard times we face.

HalleluYAH!
