Identifying True Worship Although we live in an age when truth is not highly regarded or revered, the vital necessity of such a principle is not diminished when developing a meaningful relationship with the Father of all, Yahweh. There are several elements Yahweh Himself describes as necessary for a reciprocal relationship to grow and flourish between Himself and His children. We at Frystown make it our goal to live by every Word that proceeds out of Yahweh’s mouth, rather than looking for ways to excuse and justify our personal foibles. It is distressing to find otherwise sincere folk explaining away plain Scripture or basic teachings because someone in a position of responsibility told them “It’s not necessary,” or, “We’ve always done it that way.” There is one event which each person will experience. No matter your station in this life, every one of us must appear before Yahshua’s Judgment Seat, and give answer for what we did in this life. Explanations such as “Tradition made me do it” or “Nobody else believed that way, so I didn’t either” just won’t cut it. Neither can we rely on the teachings and doctrines of men for salvation. The standard by which all will be judged is Truth. This short study is given to spur you to greater zeal and dedication to Yahweh, and a greater desire to follow His son, our Savior as the only lasting hope of mankind. Two quick introductory identifiers Yahshua looks for in those professing Him as their Savior: In Acts 4, the Apostle Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, (verse 8), proclaims in verses 10 & 12; “…It is by the Name of Yahshua the Messiah of Nazareth, whom you impaled but whom Yahweh raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed…Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other Name under Heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”
Was Peter not personally chosen by Yahshua the Messiah and taught by Him for 3 ½ years? Was he not filled with the Holy Spirit when making this statement? He and the other Apostles counted it a privilege to suffer shame for this Name! That Name is not Jesus, but Yahshua! Our Savior was never called Jesus by His disciples, friends or family. Check it out, and see for yourself that Yahshua is the true Name by which we must be saved. If Names do not matter, then the Apostles were pretty dumb to suffer scourging and torture rather than just accepting the status quo handed them by the religious establishment.
The second characteristic marking true disciples of the Savior is described by Him in John 13:35. “By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” We at Frystown strive to manifest the definitions of love toward all men (1 Corinthians 13), for we are all created in Yah’s image. (Genesis 1:26) What each of us does with that gift is between us and our Maker. However, someone willfully corrupting the image of the immortal Yahweh does not give us license to treat that person with anything less than the dignity and respect of love. Love is eternal. As such it must become our persona, for in such practice we reflect the glory of the Creator Himself, who is love (I John 4:16), to a lost and dying world. What is important to our Heavenly Father and our Savior? What is important to you? Is the answer to the first question the same as the answer to the second? It must be, if we seek a close and personal walk with our Redeemer! May Yahweh richly bless you!
